Awana
Awana meets each Wednesday night at 6:30pm!
We have introduced our New Awana Newsletter. Each issue will contain important information about our club and a calendar of events.
What is Awana?
Awana is a program that emphasizes spiritual growth through scripture memorization, accountability and relationship building. Divided into four segments; Large Group Time, Handbook Time, Game Time, and Closing Ceremonies, Awana stresses scripture memory and its practical application in a child's life. Every part of Awana, from the Bible lesson to scripture memory and from life application to recreation, connects to teach life lessons to kids. Awana is all about outreach and evangelism. Each lesson relates to who God is and what His work on the cross has done for all. Our three Awana clubs have their own unique format tailored to meet the needs of the age group each serves. We offer three clubs:
1. Cubbies Ages 3 yrs.-Pre K
2. Sparks Grades K5-2nd
3. T&T (Truth and Training) Grades 3rd-5th
How does a typical Awana night look?
Awana is comprised of four different tracks. Opening Ceremonies and Council TIme kick off the night with prayer, the AWANA song, pledges and time to learn a special message from God's Word. Game Time is comprised of exciting circle games, exclusive to Awana, that are a popular draw for children who are connected to the church, as well as those children who are unconnected to the church. Handbook Time provides small-group interaction and recitation of Scripture that kids learned during the week. In our Closing Ceremonies, we pass out awards and prizes and are reminded of the next week's special theme.
When and Where does Awana take place?
Awana takes place during the school year from September to May. Awana club meets each Wednesday night from 6:30-7:45 P.M. in the Children's Worship Center and the Family Life Center.
For more information about Awana, please feel free to contact the church at 244-4524.
