What is Awana?
Awana is a program that emphasizes spiritual growth through scripture memorization, accountability and relationship building. Divided into three segments; handbook time, game time, and large group time, Awana stresses scripture memory and its practical application in a child's life. Every part of Awana, from the Bible lesson to scripture memory and from life application to recreation, connects to teach life lessons to kids. Awana is all about outreach and evangelism. Each lesson relates to who God is and what His work on the cross has done for all. Our three Awana clubs have their own unique format tailored to meet the needs of the age group each serves. Awana meetings are 90 minutes long. We offer three clubs:
1. Cubbies Ages 3 yrs.-Pre K
2. Sparks Grades K5-2nd
3. T&T (Truth and Training) Grades 3rd-5th
How does a typical Awana night look?
Awana is comprised or three different tracks that are each 20 minutes long. Game Time is comprised of exciting circle games exclusive to Awana that are a popular draw for children who are connected to the church, as well as those children who are unconnected to the church. Handbook Time provides small-group interaction and recitation of Scripture that kids learned during the week. It also features friendship building and opportunities for leaders to mentor children and help them understand the Bible verses they learn. Large Group Time consists of praise and worship, Bible teaching, awards, announcements and a presentation of God’s plan of salvation.
